Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Coming on Monday – win an Apple Watch AND 50,000 Virgin Flying Club miles

It has been a couple of months since we ran a really big competition on Head for Points, so I am delighted to announce that we have something very special launching on Monday.

Rocketmiles – the hotel booking site which awards frequent flyer miles with every stay – has just launched a new partnership with Virgin Flying Club.

To celebrate, they have given me an Apple Watch AND 50,000 Virgin Flying Club miles to give away to one lucky winner.  That would be enough for a return redemption in economy to North America or – a substantially better proposition! – a one-way redemption in Virgin Upper Class to most places they fly.  Taxes and charges will, of course, apply.

It will be a very simple competition to enter, so don’t miss out.  Remember to visit Head for Points on Monday to enter and to learn more about the new Rocketmiles partnership with Virgin Flying Club.

…being points-poor at the moment – to win this would be amazing!

  • Andy says:

Please my I ask that we don’t start debating the pros or the cons of the watch, it’s free and a cracking competition.

  • Boi says:

Talking about apple watch, I ear over 1000 avios on suitcase, my suitcase balance has gone to zero but not credited to my avios account. My previous avios have gone across without issues. Any ideas?

    • Liz says:

The suitcase balance zeros at the start of each month I think. You can email them at : social.media@avios.com and they will sort any problems out. My account has zeroed and I haven’t received my points yet either.

    • Fenny says:

Sounds like several people have had this problem. I had 1470 points and only 30 have transferred over.

      • Mark says:

Me also… I did wonder whether they blocked them on the basis there was no way I actually could have been at all the stores over the space of 10 mins!

        • Fenny says:

They can’t do that. If they were going to enforce actually being present, during shop hours, they should have done it at the point of awarding the stickers. It’s not as though I actually visited Edinburgh, London, Mancy and all those other places at 1 am on the same day.

  • Mike says:

Back on point…. Great competition – looking forward to it.

  • Andy says:

Impressive prize! I like the idea of point being awarded as prizes since it gives the winner so much flexibility in terms of where to go.

  • Alicia says:

Is this just for people in the US, or do Virgin do the Flying Club internationally (I live in the UK so would I be able to enter/use the points?) thank you!

    • pol says:

Virgin Atlantic is a British airline (just!) so the flying club is not only available to us Brits but is based here.

  • Janeyferr says:

No, and Yes. This is a UK website, so Raffles will make it clear if something isn’t valid for UK folk.
