1,500 Avios per stay and big discounts at Melia’s new INNSIDE Manchester

Spanish hotel chain Melia has just opened the first UK site for its INNSIDE chain in Manchester in the new First Street development. The new-build property has 208 rooms.

INNSIDE is a contemporary four-star chain which seems to be aiming for the same market as the Starwood Aloft brand. The hotels are modern in design and feel, attractively priced by focussing on core services yet still offering the four-star services that a business traveller needs.

Until the end of May, all rooms are £99 – but you can do better.

If you are a Melia Rewards member you can, when logged in to melia.com, book for just £94, receive 10,000 Melia Rewards points (targeted), receive an upgrade AND receive a £15 credit per day to spend in the hotel when you are there. Not a bad package.

What does 10,000 MeliaRewards points get you?

Looking purely at airline transfers, 10,000 Melia Rewards points will convert into 1,500 Avios points in Iberia Plus. Melia is not a British Airways partner but you can move the Avios from iberia.com to ba.com using ‘Combine My Avios’ online.

If you don’t want 1,500 Avios, 10,000 Melia Rewards points will also convert into:

1,666 Lufthansa Miles & More miles

5,000 airberlin topbonus miles

1,666 American Airlines miles

1,666 Flying Blue miles

Interestingly, you can also transfer them into 5,000 Wyndham Rewards points if you collect with the US hotel chain.
