New Amex cashback offers with retailers you may actually visit

If you had begun to think that the American Express statement credit deals were getting rather too eclectic (Plenish Cleanse?  Paper London?), the good news is that a new raft of deals was launched yesterday.

If you have an Amex-issued American Express card, you need to register by visiting your online account and clicking the ‘Offers’ tab at the bottom of the statement page.  You should see some or all of the following:

  • £10 off £50 spend at Shell
  • £10 off £65 spend at World Duty Free
  • £15 off £60 spend at Ocado
  • £5 off £20 spend at Boots
  • £10 off £50 spend at thetrainline.com
  • £10 off £50 spend at House of Fraser
  • £10 off £40 spend at Debenhams
  • £10 off £25 spend at Vue Cinemas
  • £5 off £10 spend at Caffe Nero
  • £10 off £100 spend at Heals
  • £20 off £100 spend at Thomas Pink
  • £50 off £250 spend at Moss Bros
  • £10 off £50 spend at Fat Face
  • £20 off £200 spend at Co-Op Electrical

Expiry dates vary but most are in June.  Some offers have a cap for how many cards can be registered so don’t delay – once registered, there is no rush to actually make the relevant expenditure.

Remember that these deals stack with any other offer you have.  As long as you charge the required amount – in one transaction – to the Amex card you registered then the cashback will be paid.

The World Duty Free offer, for example, will work just fine alongside the £5 off coupons that are available easily online.  Buying a gift card to use later also works OK.

These are offers are NOT currently showing on the cardmemberoffers.co.uk site.  If you don’t see the one you want on your statement page, keep checking back to cardmemberoffers as – if it does turn up (as they usually do) – you can register there.

If you have a Lloyds, MBNA or Barclays Amex card, you can register here.

I got all but the Debenhams offer.

I don’t actually plan on using any of these… Would be spending for the sake of spending!

    • Jason says:

Buy gift cards, at stores you shop in.

      • RT says:

Not many of these retailers sell gift cards though. Only Boots and Shell by the looks of things?

  • trickster says:

Anyone know if you can register supplementary card separately to get the credit more than once?

    • trickster says:

      Cheers, that’s what I thought.

    • trickster says:

Doesn’t seem to be the case looking at other comments, and trying out a supp. Gold card @

      • Trevor says:

Actually, it is the case, and so is it the case that you can’t register Amex issued amex cards at the site you linked – that is for non-amex issued amex cards issued by banks (Amex isn’t a UK bank), and their help states:

Only American Express UK bank-issued Cards are eligible for American Express Connect.

  • swissy says:

I think that the Debenhams and House of Frazer offers are now fully subscribed

  • Rob says:

To be honest, I’d never seen this before! It may be new. Someone sent me a copy of an email from Lloyds yesterday and the link was there.

    • The_Real_A says:

I registered my diamond club and LLyods avios, spent at Shell and recieved a confirmation mail within a few minutes that the transaction tracked. Great secret website!

      • Andrew says:

I emailed Amex yesterday to find out why I couldn’t register my Platinum Card on the site for these offers and was told that the site is only for bank issued cards, ie Lloyds etc and not for Amex issued cards – we should use cardmemberoffers site – which currently doesn’t feature any of these offers. Not impressed that my £450 a year card is excluded!

  • David says:

Have Amex Centurion, all offers are on my card, they aren’t on any of my Supps, or my BA Amex

  • Andrew says:

    Yes

    • Andrew says:

Actually, possibly not if it directs you to another site to buy the vouchers.

  • badger says:

Shell + Amex – Amex sent me ‘you have successfully redeemed’ email about 5 mins after I bought the fuel

  • Rich says:

I can rarely get £50 worth of fuel in my car (curse my small petrol tank and those damn low fuel prices!)

    Presumably non-fuel purchase counts too?

    • RK says:

Yep, they have no way of knowing what you are buying. You could buy £50 of jelly babies for all they know, all they know is that you spent £50+ at a Shell Garage.

      • Mark says:

Or if you don’t have a craving for sugar, most garages sell gift cards for various retailers as a way of making it up £50 🙂
