Probably a silly question, when booking the current £20 offer that includes a glass of champagne, what do you add to your cart when using the AMEX20 code? I see the standard fee goes down from £25 to £20 when the code is added, but there is no mention then of a glass of champagne. If you manually add one as an extra, it is not discounted at all.

I would also like to know how the fast track works?

  I imagine that No 1 tracks people using the code and adds an additional voucher for the champagne to your order. I wouldn’t be too worried about this – I will give you the email of someone at No 1 to chase if they cause problems!
  
  I assume that showing your No 1 confirmation at security is good enough for fast track. They have offered this benefit for years so it should be a well oiled system.

    You just print the confirmation email from No1 which includes the fast track logo and date then show it to the people on the priority lane. I assume the booking code matches with their system but when I went through they just looked at the No1 email and waved me through, they must see hundreds in a day.

I’ve always wondered but with the Amex Plat Priority Pass – how many times can you go in and out of the same lounge on the same day? I presume it’s unlimited right? And there is no “time limit” as to how long you can stay in there?

  Depends on the lounge – No.1 Traveller imposes a 3 hour limit. What I don’t know is if Priority Pass will refuse to pay the lounge if you enter twice on the same day – it is very possible this is one of their rules.

    The last time I was in No 1 at Gatwick and the lounge was quite busy they were operating a waiting list for PP holders, they took your mobile number and called you when space became available. If you had a booking you could come in as they were expecting you.

        Go to their website, then under cardholders at the top you’ll find “Make an advance reservation”. The email they send you will contain the fast track invite so you can use that to get through security too.
        
        Advance reservations are free if you buy something that would normally be extra (like champagne) or £5 otherwise.

Just a quick question but not related to this article:
With the new Avios rules coming on 28 April, I was wondering how the 2-4-1 voucher works.
I am basically thinking to make a CW booking for next year in February but does not hold the voucher yet, should probably have it around June.
Can I still make my booking for 1 redemption and in June change the dates (or not) + basically add a 2-4-1 if a second seat is available (otherwise I will find a date with 2 seats)?
I basically want to save some avios by booking before 28 April although i dont own the voucher yet.

  No. you need to make the 2 for 1 booking with the voucher in hand. you cannot add the 2 for 1 voucher to an existing booking. your best option would be to read raffles articles on hitting your sign up bonus quicker. Also you could book a refundable room on hotels.com for say September and then you will hit the £10,000 quicker you could then get the 2 for 1 voucher quicker. then when you have spent the 10k in June just cancel the hotel and receive a full refund. this should allow you to hopefully book something in April rather then June , when it will undoubtedly cost you more avios points.

    I think there is some flexibility on this if you get the right agent.
    
    Subject to award seats being available you can make changes to booking to turn a single into a return or add a second pax using a 241.
    
    The latter may well involve a cancel and rebook (I don’t know what the agent actually did) hence why the extra Avios would likely be collected but I’ve certainly been able to do it between LHR and JFK when my partner has been able to join at relatively short notice, would bet the same is possible to BKK etc.

  I’m pretty sure if you attempted to turn an existing booking into a 2-4-1 they would want to collect the difference in Avios as part of the process in collecting the taxes etc. for the additional passenger if you did this post devaluation.
  
  The whole point of giving notice of the change is so you can spend your Avios in advance of the devaluation, this site has plenty of tips on bringing forward credit card spend so you should be able to trigger your 241 if you really want to save the extra Avios.
  
  Also, don’t forget dates changes and making telephone bookings (for the extra pax) will also attract you additional fees which may give you extra incentive to bring your spend forward by a couple of months.
  
  If you really wanted to try it you could make the booking by phone and if it your plan is actually acceptable have the agent add this arrangement clearly the booking notes. You will incur an offline fee and risk another agent not willing to honour the arrangement but it would be the only way to test the theory for sure.
