Don’t forget that ALL redspottedhanky loyalty points expire on 31 December

Head for Points has promoted quite a few redspottedhanky.com promotions this year, all of which gave you free loyalty points that could be redeemed for money off your next train trip. This included Fantasy Golf and Fantasy Formula 1.

What you must remember – and what caught out some HfP readers last year – is that RSH loyalty points expire at the end of every year.

This is what the rules say:

All points and e-vouchers created from loyalty points will be valid for one calendar year from 1st January – 31st December. If you do not collect and redeem your points or e-vouchers by the end of the calendar year they will not be carried forward to the following calendar year.

The good news is that you can redeem ANY amount of redspottedhanky points for e-vouchers towards train travel. There is no minimum and no maximum. Last year I had 1291 points in early December and it got me a £12.91 e-voucher.

The voucher will arrive in your RSH account within 24 hours and will have an expiry date of 2020 based on previous experience. Ignore what the rules say about e-vouchers expiring quickly – they don’t.

There is still the final round of points from the Fantasy Formula 1 competition due. I imagine that, like last year, these will be delayed until January in order to stop them expiring almost immediately.

    No need to do that. If you transfer say 2500 points you would get a £25 e-voucher, buy a ticket for £15 and your e-voucher balance reduces to £10 and is valid until 2020

Cheers. £15 for me and similar for the wife. Don’t use RSH anymore but useful to get a final round of vouchers 🙂

  I never got the train credit for golf or F1 it seems. Does it automatically appear in your Rsh account with the same email address or is there something special you have to do to transfer them over?

    Just to make sure, have you checked the “Loyalty” page on your RSH account as the points appear there rather than as e-vouchers?
    
    I’m sure you have checked but best just to rule out the obvious first!

    I actually cannot remember the last time I took a train for pleasure! Work pays for any work trips I take, and generally other travel there is 4 of us, so cheaper and easier to take the car. A good point though is I could take the vouchers and maybe they will come in use!
