Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Save £15 tax on eight Club Europe routes via avios.com

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

On top of the British Airways and Iberia sale deals, avios.com has slipped out a small Club Europe promotion of its own.

If you book and travel before December 31st, the tax on Club Europe tickets to the following destinations is reduced from £50 to £35:

Amsterdam

Bologna

Dublin

Dusseldorf

Avios sale

Frankfurt

Lisbon

Oslo

Stockholm

These deals are ONLY available if you book via avios.com.  If your Avios points sit in British Airways Executive Club, you will need to move them across to avios.com using Combine My Avios.

The deal effectively equalises the tax between Eurotraveller and Club Europe, which means that the only difference is the additional Avios.  If you are relatively Avios rich and do not have lounge access via BA status, I would be tempted to jump on this.  You can drink your way through the value of the additional Avios if nothing else ….

Full details can be found here at avios.com – see the box halfway down the right hand side.

  • Nick says:

Thanks. I hadn’t realised that BA had put up the “tax” on club europe redemptions to £50. Sigh.

  • Mikeact says:

I though it had been £50 since the beginning.
And another benefit for those gradually falling down the tiers….lounge access.

    • Rob says:

      Wasn’t it £40, then £45, then £50? I think economy was £25, £30, £35?

  • Dalr says:

I don’t know if the Avios site is less sophisticated, or just if regional flights are excluded, but I can’t get availabilty from Edinburgh to Bologna for example – even though LHR-BLQ and EDI-LHR flights show as available when you do separate seacrhes..
    Any ideas?

  • ECR says:

It is available on the BA Executive Club website as well. It is showing under offers and news.

  • Dalr says:

The T&Cs stipulate from LON only so I wonder if the free domestic connection is excluded, which makes it a poor offer for those outside London
