Earn 400% bonus Avios with Flybe flights from London City

The partnership between Flybe and Avios (ie avios.com and not British Airways Executive Club) started last Monday. If you fly on Flybe going forward, you will be able to collect a relatively modest number of Avios points.
I wrote extensively about this new arrangement here and here if you want to know more. You can find full details on the Flybe website here.
The start of the deal was timed to coincide with the start of the Winter timetable and Flybe’s launch of services from London City Airport.
The airline is flying from London City to Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Belfast, Dublin, Exeter, Inverness and Amsterdam. Given the competition from British Airways on most of these routes, it will be interesting to see how they do.
To encourage you to try the London City services, you can earn QUADRUPLE Avios on all Flybe services from London City until the end of the year. That works out at 16 Avios per £1 spent – albeit you only earn Avios on the base fare and not the taxes and charges component.
Given that fares from City are generally high, you should – with quadruple Avios points – be better off on the Flybe flights than on British Airways. The difference will not be huge unless you are buying a last minute ticket, however, and of course you do NOT earn British Airways tier points with Flybe.
There is nothing about this promo on the Flybe page describing the Avios arrangement but it is on the Avios website here.
