Tesco Clubcard vouchers will soon be dropping through letterboxes. The key question is ‘Will Avios be running a conversion bonus this quarter?’

The answer is no, unfortunately.

Instead, there is a competition.

Every day from November 4th to December 4th, there will be a prize draw for everyone who converted that day. Six winners will receive a random prize of between 1,500 and 100,000 Avios.

You receive one entry for every £2.50 you convert.

If you automatically convert your Clubcard points to Avios, you will receive ONE entry every day. Anyone who has a very large amount of points autoconverting will be worse off whilst anyone with a small total will be better off.

This is not desperately exciting stuff, to be honest. There is no word yet on whether Virgin Flying Club will be running a conversion bonus.

    Or could you say convert 10 x £2.50 in a day to get 10 x the chance of winning?

    Hi,
    Has anyone converted manually from cc to avios in the last few days? If so, have your points been credited to your accounts yet as earlier this week it took just over a day for the points to credit, i converted small amounts (£50 & £60) worth two days ago and still no credit yet?

    Converting £2.50 a day seems the obvious thing to do. Trouble is, most of my vouchers are £30 or more. So for each small conversion there will be a lot of ‘change’ which won’t be back in my account again until the new year.

      The change is credited straight away in my experience.

        The change is only added back to your account at the end of the quarter. So if you used a £30 voucher for a £2.50 transaction then you won’t get the £27.50 back until your next statement.

    I converted mine just now as I can’t be bothered with all the effort for something that will ultimately be a disappointment!

    If you think you can pick a day when fewer than average people are converting, presumably you are better off converting all at once. You get one entry per £2.50 and the prizes are fixed per day, so you have better odds of winning when fewer people convert.

    We should run a spreadsheet when members are converting so we don’t all do it on the same day.
