3,000 Virgin Flying Club miles for a 3-day Hertz rental

From November 1st, it will no longer be possible to earn Avios points via Hertz. Whilst British Airways dropped Hertz as a partner some years ago, they retained a partnership with Iberia Plus. And, of course, you can transfer Iberia Plus Avios points to BA or avios.com via ‘Combine My Avios’.
With the Iberia / Hertz deal ending, Virgin Flying Club is the most logical place to park your Hertz rentals. You usually get 1,100 miles per rental which is not bad at all.
Until 30th November, Hertz is offering something even better. You will receive 3,000 Virgin Flying Club miles with every rental of 3 days or more in the UK, USA or Australia.
Full details can be found here on the Hertz website.
There is also a nominal ‘10% discount’ available via this promotion although that does not mean that the rates will be lower than you would get with any other Hertz discount rate.
The small print says that you need to use CDP 730290 (the Virgin price code) when booking. Historically this has not been the case and you would still receive the bonus miles whatever code you used – as long as it was not a code which explicitly forbids the earning of any airline miles.
The deal is valid for rentals booked by November 17th and completed by November 30th.
