Decent BA / SPG / Gold / Platinum Amex offer – £10 off £30 at WH Smith

A decent new American Express promotion has appeared in the online accounts of many people.   I have it showing under my Platinum card although it is not showing for my SPG or BA Amex.  My wife does have it showing for her BA Amex.

The deal offers £10 statement credit when you spend £30 at WH Smith.  It is valid for the first 30,000 people to register.

If you think that WH Smith doesn’t have much to offer, think again.  The larger (non-railway and non-airport) stores tend to sell a decent range of gift cards for a start.  This effectively means that you can transfer your £10 saving to a different retailer altogether.

Stocking up on stamps is another possibility.  You will also find a range of toys in some stores as well as the usual books, magazines etc.

If you can find a suitably large store – for Londoners, there is a good one just a few steps from Chancery Lane tube station for example – you could save yourself a few pounds across various Amex cards relatively easily.

The deadline for spending the £30 is 15th October.

Some other, less interesting, deals have are also showing on my accounts, some of which I have mentioned before:

Armani Exchange, £10 back on £50

TopShop, £15 back on £50

Red Carnation Hotels, £25 back on £250

Moss Bros, £50 back on £200

Sunglass Hut, £10 back on £100

Gap, £15 back on £50

Skype, £5 back on £10 (ends 30/9)

Hilton, £50 back on £250 spend in UK (ends 30/9)

Debenhams, £10 back on £50

Achica, £25 back on £85

House of Fraser, £10 back on £50

Ryanair, £10 back with no minimum spend

Anyone know how to load these offers into a supplemental card? They only show up in the online account of the main card holder, but the T&Cs state they are per-card and not per-account so I’d like to register the supplemental card too, however when I log in as the supplemental user, I don’t get shown any offers at all, just the transactions.

    • pazza2000 says:

Via FourSq. Loading the offer to card via the Amex site is only available to the main cardholder

  • Rob says:

Mobile top up vouchers are a good way of using up these sorts of deals, e.g. O2 covers Giff Gaff and Tesco too.

  • pazza2000 says:

If you have loaded the offer to card via the Amex site and rec’d a statement credit from a retailer, are you then ineligible for an additional statement credit if you then afterwards load the offer via 4S and make another qualifying spend?

  • Kevin says:

Would we get £10 each time we purchase things from wh smith at different locations?

  • squills says:

Latest Amex offer is £15 off £40, targeted though 😉
