OK, I admit, 60 free Avios or 62 free Virgin Flying Club miles is not exactly going to change your life. However, you are getting 60p of value for approximately a minute of your life, so on that basis it isn’t a bad return on your time!

Tesco and Coke have joined together to run a survey on household recycling. By completing a one-question questionnaire and playing a very short game, you will earn 25 Clubcard points.

Alternatively, you can download a 50p coupon for Coke products instead.

Once you’ve played, you will have the opportunity to earn a further 5 (yes, five) Clubcard points for referring your friends via Facebook or Twitter. The maximum number of referrals is five so you can’t make more than a further 60 Avios from this. It probably isn’t worth polluting your friends Twitter or Facebook feeds on that basis.

The closing date for this promotion is 28th September.

  Yes, I was less than impressed last month when I took a couple of hundred cans to my Tesco Extra only to find the neat recycling machine gone and replaced by dozens of dirty and overspilling old style bins, with loose recyclables strewn all over the floor. My annoyance was further compounded by looking online and seeing that Tesco was claiming that they had removed the recycling machines due to customer feedback. Sure, because customers would prefer not to be rewarded for recycling.

    i think its more on response to normal customers ie those who dont target offers like this for points. lets be honest when did the things actually work? i know my 2 local ish ones never did so for the average user that would get annooying

I’m new to the ‘world of Avios’ and a week ago redeemed a small amount of clubcard vouchers. On clubcard, can I ask a slightly off topic question – I have not yet seen them added to my Avios account. I couldn’t see anywhere on my Clubcard pages where I had to put my Avios number. So assumed other relevant consistent personal data was the way they matched from one to the other.

Should I have expected them to have posted by now? Have I done anything obviously wrong?

On better news, my Amex gold arrived yesterday so I’m starting to become better tooled at playing the game. Just got the above points too – thanks HfP!

  The T&Cs say 28 days, but most things do, so I wonder if that was the norm.There are a number of poor reviews on Clubcard where things seem to go AWOL!

  You will need to contact Avios, either by phone or online chat. Its a common problem with first time CC transfers (Avios will have opened a duplicate account). Once you have confirmed your details you will see the avios in your account within 24 hours.

There is also a comp on the website to win 3000 clubcard points. While this might sound like a lot, most people spend their vouchers in store and so would only get 30 pounds of value from the prize. I think this is a bit stingy as you can win more in village tombola! Especially as Coke and Tesco prob spent quite a few thou on this promo, I bet their marketing people are giving themselves a pat on their backs for this low spend/viewers ratio.

  Me neither, nor the 250 CC points allegedly being touted by Tesco Bank for requesting a car insurance quote that has been mention over on PTS.
  
  In fact there have been quite a few promotions recently that have left me hanging for the points, Blinkbox to name but one; still owe me 2000 CC points from July – I’m not overly impressed.
