Slightly OT: £10 Tesco gift card for £5 via Mighty Deals

Long-time readers may remember a special promotion that website Mighty Deals ran with Shell Drivers Club last year.  For under £9 you could buy 2,000 Shell Drivers Club points, convertible into 2,000 Avios points.

Mighty Deals has a good promotion running with Tesco this week.

For the next two days, you can buy a £10 Tesco gift card via Mighty Deals for just £5.

This is a standard Tesco plastic gift card.  It can be used either instore or online so you won’t have any difficulty using it.  You will earn Avios points or Virgin Flying Club miles via Clubcard on the full £10 when you use the gift card in Tesco.

The link to the Mighty Deals offer is here.

Apparently Mighty Deals ran similar offers for Debenhams and Argos recently.  Anyone who took part in those offers cannot take part in this one.  For the rest of us, it is a fairly straightforward £5 gain.

Shame you then have to buy and drink Starbucks coffee, which is dreadful every time I am forced to buy it for want of anything else.

    • MDM says:

Agree Brian, I would rather pay £5 than have to drink Starbucks “coffee”! Each to their own though.

  • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

Just got my follow-up email from Mighty Deals with the link to order the Tesco card. All seemed to work fine.

  • pazza2000 says:

I purchased from Mighty-deals yesterday although have made a purchase in the past. Different email although all other details will have been the same. No follow up email received as of yet nor any cancellation. / refund.

    • chris says:

you might get the email in spam (the order ones for me when to the inbox, but the code one when to spam)

      • pazza2000 says:

Just received it in the last hour (in spam box). ‘Voucher successfully redeemed’ so will await for it in the post.

  • Jo says:

    🙁 says deal is over

    • Singing Dwarf says:

Deal has been extended – “Deal ends in 7 days, 10 hours, 14 minutes and 50 seconds”

      • Singing Dwarf says:

But still not accepting payment via website…something odd happening here methinks

        • What's the Point says:

I’ve tried 6 ties to buy it, with 3 different cards. Not one worked!

  • Tim says:

I purchased two (different accounts) yesterday, had the follow up emails today but it appears impossible to redeem.

First you have to go to the Mighty Deals website with their emailed code. They then send a second email confirming ‘redemption’ but no means to access a code valid at Tesco. Email them and it bounces back. ‘Contact’ via the Mighty Deals web site results in an impassible safety error from both Chrome and Safari. I have been round and round without success. £10 down the drain – for now.

    Tim.

    • Rob says:

I redeemed ok yesterday, give it time I think

      • chris says:

from my understranding of it you put in the redeem code, and your address details, and your gift card is a real life plastic card, so waiting on the post time

  • David says:

The link in my email does not appears to exist and the closest alternative takes me to a site where you appears to be redeeming a code for a HR course:

    mightydeals.co.uk/redeem.aspx?ldid=21215

Will fill in the details and see what happens.

Anyone else have this situation or get to the right page?

    • Rob says:

Odd. It worked fine for me two days ago, took me to the correct redemption page.

      It still works – mightydeals.co.uk/redeem.aspx?ldid=21215

  • David says:

How do you contact the company? I cannot find a way to do this online? This all looks a bit suspect to me.

  • squills says:

O/T but free Lipton ice tea – do a balance check at a Tesco ATM and you should get a print-out which will entitle you to a free drink. Better still, do several 😉
