Virgin, AA and United credit card offers extended – and a new Etihad Guest deal

A quick heads up that MBNA has extended the current sign-up offers on three of its airline credit cards.

The impressive Virgin Flying Club offer has been extended from 30th June to 14th July.  This offers 10,000 miles for the free White card and 30,000 miles for the £140 Black card.  Remember that you can get both the White and Black cards!

The American Airlines bonus has been extended from 31st May to 30th June.  This offers 15,000 AA miles for this free card.

The United Airlines deal has been extended from 30th June to 15th July.  This offers 15,000 United miles for signing up – again, the cards are free.

There is also a new offer on the MBNA-run Etihad Guest cardThis now offers 12,000 Etihad Guest miles as you can see here.  I will analyse this offer in detail very soon.

The Lufthansa Miles & More credit card has not been extended.  The bonus on that card has dropped back to the usual 1,500 miles.

On the United offer I see that they are merging with AA. My wife and I have around 45,000 AA points each. Is it worth getting the United offer points? Will both programmes be merged?

    Thanks

    • Felix Flyer says:

Sorry, it is US airways (oneworld) that is merging with American rather than United (Star Alliance).

  • jose says:

Can the 15.000 AA mile be transferred and converted into Avios or BA miles?

    • Alan says:

No you can book BA flights with AA miles, but can’t transfer them.

To bite at the 12k EY sign up offer or hold off in the chance of a greater one…??

  • M says:

On the AA card application(in FAQ’s section) it clearly states “You can also earn double miles for any spend on fuel, supermarket shopping and American Airlines purchases when using your
AAdvantage® Credit Card Account.” Came out no extra points are given! This is for the card taken last mont.
