  I nearly had a heart attack reading that… as a Nick who went to Warwick university and picked the Gran Melia in Rome, when I read that “Nick from Warwick” had won, I thought I was going to be off on holiday!

  Sadly, reading further, it clearly can’t be me, since Raffles has already communicated with the winner, and I didn’t hear a thing 🙁

      have you thought of making the contest slightly skill-based rather than pure luck? I don’t have specific suggestions, but just to make people ‘earn’ the prize.

        Its possible – it depends to some extent what the sponsor wants. With this one, I wanted to help Melia get the word out about their properties, which is why it was set up as it was.

        To get around the Northern Ireland rules, though, it must genuinely be skill-based – I can’t ask ‘What is the capital of France?’ (this is the exact example given in the legal guidance notes.)

          It’s a shame there’s no easy way for you to monitor multiple entries etc too (ie. people registering ‘work / office’ postcodes / emails etc)…

          Even better if you managed to keep out the “competition community” who had probably never even heard of (or are interested in) this site but would’ve entered the competition even if the prize was a jar of strawberry jam 😉

          ….Ultimately, all I want to do is increase my chances of winning without resorting to shenanigans 😉 haha

          Anyways, all credit to you – was a belting prize! 🙂

  Well done Nick. There’s a number 64 bus stop not far from the hotel. If you take a taxi from the Termini railway station, make sure it’s an official taxi – you ought not to be charged more than 15-20 euros to be taken to the hotel… any more than that and you’re being ripped off. Enjoy!
