Six new statement credit deals from Amex, including Debenhams

American Express has launched another batch of cashback offers available.

You need to activate these offers before using them.

If you have an Amex-issued Amex card:

On a desktop PC, log in to your American Express account.  On the statement summary page for each card, you will see a box in the far right margin entitled ‘Your Offers’.  Click on that.

On the iPhone or iPad app, you will an icon marked ‘Offers’ very clearly on the page for each card.

If you have an Amex card issued by Lloyds, MBNA or Barclays, you need to register via www.cardmemberoffers.co.uk instead.

Frankly, this batch of offers is not desperately exciting:

Debenhams (instore or online): £10 credit on £50 spend before 16 May (first 4,000 cards only)

Moss Bros / Moss / Savoy Tailors Guild: £50 credit on £200 spend before 16 May (first 4,000 cards  only)

Heals (instore or online):  £15 credit on £150 spend before 16 May

Armani Exchange:  20% statement credit before 16 May

Flying Flowers:  £5 credit on £25 spend before 20 June

Britannia Hotels:  £20 credit on £120 spend before 16 July

There is an older offer which is still showing as well:

PH Hotels:  £30 credit on £250 spend before 31 May

It is also possible that you will not have received some or all of these offers, depending on whether or not Amex is feeling the love for you at the moment ….

Remember that you can register for the offer across EVERY Amex-issued Amex card you have, excluding supplementary cards.  This means that – as long as you split the payment across multiple cards – you could save £20 on a £100 Debenhams purchase or £30 on a £150 purchase, depending on how many Amex cards you have.

It is also worth remembering that purchases of gift cards will trigger the bonus, if you don’t have a suitable purchase in mind at the moment but still want to lock in the discount.  This is particularly relevant at Debenhams, where you may want to pick up a gift card now and then use it when the sale comes round.

FYI the Hailo one seemed to work on my MBNA branded Amex – got the e-mail confirmation that my ride had qualified – haven’t checked to see if the credit has been applied, but don’t see why it wouldn’t be. Wasn’t expecting that…

  • Andrew says:

If like me, Amex never offers you these offers, they are also available on FourSquare. Supp cards and non-Amex cards can be loaded with the offers there too.

  • James67 says:

Debenhams works for me. Bagged £40 rebates last time and will do so again this time buying giftcards. Also saved about £30 on Debs giftcards at Tesco using conditional spend vouchers and banked decent number of bonus clubcard points. I plan to use giftcard to buy an ipad for a relative; now just need to be patient until Debsplus has a decent offer. Any offer plus my £110 saving will be a good deal for an ipad.

  • Joe says:

Does this work online for Moss?

    • Rob says:

The T&C’s does not say it does, unlike with Debenhams.

      • Frenske says:

T&C says: ‘ … at Moss, Moss Bros and Savoy Taylors Guild in-stores only between 16 April and 16 May 2014’.

There are many ways you could interpret this sentence e.g. using AmEx on-line after 17 May would be fine, but the most logical interpretation is that you need you use the card in-store to get the discount.

        • Brendan says:

But if you could buy a gift card instore you should then be able to use the gift card online

  • Col A-B says:

Spotted these on my AMEX loging last night. Agree they’re not the most amazing offers seen.
I’d say the Debenhams one is the best. Instant 20% discount on a gift card. Perfect.

  • Brendan says:

Wonder could you buy a £200 gift card instore from Moss Bros to get the £50 rebate?

  • Rob says:

Thanks Ian, I’ve amended the post.

  • Waribai says:

Thanks for this Raffles. Having not realised that I’m now in my 40’s, I’m actually still quite partial to AX!
