British Airways launched its new lounge at Belfast City Airport last week.  This comes ahead of the move of the Belfast service from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5 at Heathrow, due to take place in October.

When I first published this post on Saturday, the only photos I had were of Willie Walsh in the lounge.  However, thanks to reader Lewis, I now have a few decent ones which show the lounge properly:

According to the press documents:

The British Airways Belfast lounge offers panoramic views of the airfield, and offers an exclusive experience for customers. Located airside and adjacent to Door A, the lounge offers direct boarding on to the aircraft.

Features of the British Airways lounge include:

87 comfortable seats
Work zone
Power outlets throughout the lounge
Complimentary Wi-fi throughout the lounge
New ‘air’ print technology enabling customers to print from their mobile devices
Televisions and a choice of newspapers and magazines
Full complimentary bar
Extensive choice of food, with a menu that changes throughout the day

Raffles will be there Tues, so can take some and send them to you.

  • Gordon says:

Raffles any news on whether BA will start a gatwick flight from belfast? With so many BA European holiday destination flights going from Gatwick it makes BA very difficult to use.

  • olybeast says:

    That’s great 🙂

  • Lady London says:

Worth a reminder that apparently normal rates of APD do not apply out of Belfast?

    • Rob says:

APD is zero on direct long-haul flights from Belfast, but this doesn’t apply if changing in Heathrow. This means it applies to exactly one flight, the United service to Newark!

      • Brendan Sweeney says:

Bit of a farce isn’t it! Even that flight is nothing more than competitively priced

  • Andrew says:

Great photos – looks very like the new lounges at Glasgow and Edinburgh.

    • Fidelityutensils says:

I was just about to type that very statement! 🙂

  • E14 says:

So if all 87 seats are taken, each person will get a 1/4 if a sandwich …. Can’t wait to say goodbye to the T1 domestic lounge though – I will not be visiting on its last day
