    May be! I randomly plugged in a few destinations and pulled up the prices, I didn’t have any pre-sale prices for comparison.

  LHR-SYD in Business shows a best fare of just over £4K . I have never paid £4k in my life, on any carrier, to make that run except on shorter-notice business trips. Also, the “sale” price is the same all year long, there is not even a typical winter price dip (southern hemisphere winter that is). Either there is some assumption about Qantas instability causing BA demand…. or there really is no “sale” price on this route.

  But as Raffles points out, there is ex-EU. Right now I can find xmas fares in Club World to SYD at £2.5K – but again, I question that this is a sale price, as I took that same fare last December, which I booked in October. Good luck to those who do find a bargain. Maybe someone can post one and cheer us up 😉

    Ex EU prices are not in the sale. SYD for £2.5k is not bad but the odd £2k fare ex EU (not on BA) is usually about.

  When going from AMS, is there a way to put the LHR to AMS (vice versa) in Economy and the non-europe flight in Club? So far the AMS route shows as more expensive.

    Not to get a reduced price. You need the ex AMS flights on a totally separate ticket, then book a separate flight to Amsterdam. Not certain to be cheaper.

  Vis-à-vis this sale last year. LON-OSL booked at short notice (I booked on opening day of the sale last year) was £199 return, this year it is £310 on a like-for-like comparison.

  In fact, the price doesn’t come down for random weekends in April or July. So 50% more expensive on this count, this year.

  This is really good for me as was going to Orlando in October, and this comes at £1,420 per adult. I have put the flights on hold for 3 days with my travel agent, does anyone know if Virgin might plan the same in the next few days?

    They’ll usually price match, but if you’re going with family, the BA seat is more ‘family friendly’
