  Agreed but I would put it over even more strongly. Remember too that Accor have so msny promos such as private sales, multinight discounts, advance bookings etc which can increase value further. I recently stayed overnight at Ibis at AMS for just £27 all in! I explored the clubcard hotel offers some time ago and concluded none were likely a good deal because of the booking process and small print so have always avoided them. There is probably some value to be had as was discussed in comments in your clubcard other partners post some months ago but I suspect this value id limitted and hard to get.

  It still makes sense for Tesco: remember little old ladies exchange CC vouchers at face value for food 😉 This is fairly similar or even better for Mr T assuming they got a decent discount from Ibis.

  Just another cheap way to reduce the liabilities building up in the loyalty scheme.

  I’ve stayed in three Ibis properties in the last that are on the list.

  Preston was the first and I was fairly impressed as it was £29 for a Saturday night booked three days in advance. It’s one of the older Ibis properties and doesn’t have the ‘pod’ style rooms. For £29 it was a decent overnight stay.

  The second was Glasgow, again £29 this time for a Monday night. A long drawn out complaints process ensued to get a refund for the room and breakfast after I was kept up all night with kids running up and down the corridors screaming and shouting and then in the morning there were undesirables walking in off the street for a free breakfast. There was no control to the place whatsoever. I was also freezing and the heating system was inadequate.

  And there was the ‘Premium’ property that is Blackpool. I was booked in there for two nights to attend a conference with work. It’s an ex-travelodge and is on top of a nightclub with poor soundproofing whilst the seating at breakfast is inadequate and resembles a rabble.

  Not one of the best options for using CC points and based on the properties I’ve visited a tent would be better.

    Ibis Preston is an ex HI EX from 2001 – same as one of the Chesterfeild locations, Rotherham and a couple others, the HI franchise went into liquidation and Ibis took some at that point.
    A few are non purpose built pods.

  Assuming no blackout days and Hilton /Marriott are full for a Saturday night during the Edinburgh Festival, then and probably only then, £60 in CC vouchers may be an option

    True, but then every hotel in and around Edinburgh is full during the festival, even Ibis – so then you would meet to make sure of availability before converting CC points so you don’t get stuck with them.

    I stayed in an Ibis in Manchester a good few years ago and in the morning the key card stopped working, reception had decided I had left and had checked me out! The room took me back to my days staying in student halls.

  I think the following from their T&C’s makes it pretty impossible to book anyway:
  “Accommodation must be booked at least 3 days before you intend to book.” !!!!

  Accor have the Happy Mondays offer, allowing you to book rooms for the following weekend on Monday (and Tuesday, despite the offer name). Ibis hotels in London are £40 a night (Fri, Sat, Sun) and outside London, they are £25.

  It is clear, as has been pointed out, that you’d have to be extremely unfortunate to be in a position where this offer would be worth it!!!

  we once stayed at the Ibis Stevenage for around £25-£30 a night (was 2-3 years back). nothing to report. just a low grade HIX or perhaps Travelodge standard hotel. it ticked a box for sleeping but nothing more (fortunately we were able to sleep). Wouldn’t rush back. Stevenage has HIX and HI which are better
