  Merry christmas folks. Off next month to KL with Emirates, and points upgrade to Biz. Then from KL to Hong Kong in Biz with Cathay Pacific, 4 nights in Crowne Plaza using IHG points, and then return to KL on MAS A380 in First. Add on to that the Shangri La points to redeem for a meal or two whilst there!

  Also trip to London in January for a wedding, flying down using points with Virgin (and a 46kg luggage allowance!) then staying 2 nights in Crowne Plaza St James at a bargain £45/night. Also have the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury booked using IHG Best Rate Guarantee which im still to cancel.

  None of it possible without the aid of Raffles, although i always had a vague idea about travel rewards i was lacking any real insight into playing the system and all the loopholes.

  Thanks to Rob and indeed to the wonderful community that HFP has helped to sustain. Merry Christmas to all and a happy New Year. My wife and I are currently in Senegal, having booked MAD-DKR as an RFS redemption after seeing it mentioned here (and before it was withdrawn by Iberia!) We have wanted to come here for years but it only became possible thanks to HFP.

  Here’s hoping 2014 will be another wonderful year for everyone’s adventures!
