Tesco now giving 720 Avios for a £5 DVD purchase

I wrote a few weeks ago about Tesco Direct and the latest round of ‘150 Clubcard points for pre-ordering a DVD’ deals – see here.

That batch of deals expires today, 15th September.

Tesco has also launched a new list of DVD’s offering 150 points which runs to 23rd September.

Here is the clever bit ….

Some of the DVD’s appear on both lists!  Like our good £5 friend, Scooby-Doo.

Take a look here.

You will see that some of the DVD’s offer 300 points each, and some Blu-Ray discs 400 points each.  Not all of them, but some.

These deals will finish today, as the original batch of ‘expires 15th September’ offers falls away.

The new list, which will still be available after today, has some decent stuff on it as well, such as The Great Gatsby and Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa.

Slightly random but does anyone know if I can give my tesco clubcard vouchers to other family members for them to use / convert through their tesco accounts? Cheers

    • Rob says:

Some people seem to get away with it if the surname and address (sometimes only one of the two) matches.

However, because of the new Tesco website – which lists all of the vouchers earned on that account – it seems impossible to put through a voucher on a different account. I tried to do this last week (I have 2 accounts, both same name and same address) but it wouldn’t let me put all the vouchers through the same account. And that is with a 100% name and address match.

Looks like all the £5 ones have gone, cheapest left is the £8 Barbie one. It needn’t be donated though as my daughter will like it!

  • kipto says:

there has been mention on here of “donating to cex” ?

excuse my ignorance, but what is cex ?

  • Raffles says:

Scooby Doo and Smurfs at £5 showing again as at 10pm. Does not mention any offer, but add to basket and 300 points show.

    • erico1875 says:

Wont let me add scooby doo or smurfs to basket.
Says “currently no seller for this item”

  • Richie says:

i bet both the smurfs and Scooby doo are both back in stock tomorrow. i would say some one at tesco has cottoned on to the loophole and have put a temporary block on those two particular dvds. as far as i can see those are the only 2 where you can effectively buy avios for sub £1.. all the other deal are only really worth it if you want the actual product and are buying it anyway. do you think tesco watch this blog raffles?

  • darrenf says:

Ten minutes before midnight and too late for Smurfs and Scooby Doo (adds to basket, but try to progress to checkout and they both get automatically removed). However, got a couple of blu-rays I actually want, so able to get 826 clubcard points in this deal anyway. Thanks!

  • Mr Bridge says:

I just returned a dvd, because some months ago, i ordered both the dvd and blu ray,(in error) only the base points were taken back not the bonus points
