Earn 4,800 Avios with Tesco Home Insurance – and a new 1,000 point grocery code

Yesterday I wrote about how to earn 5,000 Clubcard points with Tesco Life Insurance. However, Tesco is also running a second promotion at the moment. This lets you earn 2,000 bonus Clubcard points (4,800 Avios or 5,000 Flying Club miles) when you take out their home insurance.
The home page for this offer is here.
The rules are simple:
Apply by 24th September
Quote code 2000HOME
Must buy combined buildings and contents insurance (so renters are disqualified)
The points are posted immediately, not over the course of the year. However, you are obviously paying for the full year of cover up front anyway.
Whilst you should obviously shop around for a product like this, it could be a decent deal. If you value 4,800 Avios at, say, £50 then that is a sizeable rebate on the cost. The Tesco website says that 60% of its customers have a premium of £195 or less.
Meanwhile ….
A new code has emerged for 1,000 bonus Clubcard points when you spend £50 on groceries from Tesco online. The code is XXJKTT. This code can only be used by someone who has not previously ordered from Tesco online groceries – but if you have multiple Clubcards, you may well have one which has not already been used.
PS. Don’t forget that Tesco also offers 1,000 bonus Clubcard points when you take out one of their credit cards via a referral. The Tesco MasterCard has the highest Avios earnings rate of any Visa or MasterCard – click here to read my review and for details of how I can refer you. You can even get the points if you have already got the card, as long as you applied in the last three months.
