East Coast Rewards adds a good-value magazine subscriptions reward

East Coast Rewards, the train loyalty scheme that I recommend as the best value option for rail bookings, has introduced a new redemption option.

For just 400 East Coast Rewards points, you will receive a (presumably 1 year) subscription to a wide range of magazines.

There is a decent selection of titles.  Apart from those pictured above, you can choose from Heat, LandScape, FHM, Rail, Country Walking, Steam Railway, Classic Bike, Today’s Golfer, Bike, Digital Photo, Car, Motorcycle News, Popular Classics, Wonderpedia and Outdoor Fitness.

You earn 1 East Coast Rewards point per £1 you spend on standard class travel (for any train company) via their website, and 1.5 points per £1 for First Class.

One expensive First Class flexible ticket on an InterCity route may therefore be enough to claim a subscription.
