‘2 for 1’ deal with Melia Hotels – ideal for a weekend in Spain

MeliaRewards – the loyalty scheme for Melia Hotels – has launched an interesting promotion based around your birthday.

Melia has over 350 hotels in Spain and other (mainly Spanish speaking) countries, so this could be handy for a weekend break.  They also run the funky new five-star ME hotel in London.

Melia birthday

You need to join MeliaRewards first via this page You need to give a date of birth that is a month or so before the time when you expect to need a 2-4-1 night.  However, I don’t know how close to your birthday they send out the invitation emails for this promotion, so don’t put down tomorrows date!

The Loyalty Lobby link talks you through how to book your hotel.  You will receive a free night on a minimum stay of two nights or more.  Not all Melia hotels are taking part, but you should find something if you are visiting a major Spanish city.

Remember that Melia is also an Iberia Plus hotel partner, and you will earn between 150 and 525 Avios points per night. These must be credited to Iberia Plus, not avios.com or British Airways, although you can move them across via ‘Combine My Avios’.

You can see the full Melia hotel portfolio on their website here.

  • Mister says:

Don’t all hotels in Spain need to record your passport details, making this slightly risky?

    • Rob says:

No, because you can book well in advance once you have the voucher – you are not expected to use it the same week, which is the only situation it may look odd.

  • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

In my experience, the two for one was impossible to use – poor English translation in the journey and could not find any availability/get it to work. Wouldn’t recommend.

  • Slapshot says:

When you join the Melia Reward programme, you also get a 15% off promo code…
