UPDATE – DECEMBER 2021:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

I recently wrote about ‘Double Take’, the official Starwood promotion for the May to July period.  This offers double points on all stays and 500 additional points if you book via the SPG app.

Starwood also has an additional promotion which it has run for a number of years called ‘Earn Your Dreams’The website is here.

The current version runs until December 31st and covers Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  It tends to be offered at quiet times.  The deal varies from property to property but basically:

  • A standard room earns double Starpoints
  • A premium room earns triple Starpoints
  • A suite earn 3,000 bonus Starpoints

Starwood SPG

Having checked a few examples, these deals price off Best Flexible Rate where available.  Unless you need a cancellable room, they may not offer good value compared to an Advanced Purchase rate.

(Check and compare, though.  A suite I looked at at the aloft hotel in London was only £30 cheaper for Advanced Purchase, so it would have been a better deal to pay the extra £30 for a flexible rate with the 3,000 points.)

I would imagine that you CAN combine this promotion with other Starwood promotions such as ‘Double Take’, although I am not 100% certain of this.

There are also variants of this promotion which offer bonus airline miles, eg this one with Miles & More.  Since you can transfer the SPG points to miles anyway, though, there is no benefit in doing this.  You should take the points so you have the flexibility of using them either for hotel room or for airline transfer.

Does this require registration? I’ve had a look on the web site and all I can see is an option to search for a hotel…

    • Rob says:

No. If you book the necessary special rate – which will mention the bonus points – they will go on automatically.
