A quick reminder that tomorrow, March 3rd, is the last day to apply for the British Airways American Express and the British Airways Premium Plus American Express cards with their current bonuses.

BA Premium Plus American Express card BAPP

I genuinely have no idea what the new bonus will be going forward.  However, the current ones – 9,000 Avios for the free card and 25,000 Avios for the Premium Plus card – are pretty good compared to what is normally offered.

(It has been as low as 1,000 Avios for the free card and 9,000 for the paid card.)

Apply here for the free BA Amex and here for the £150 annual fee BA Premium Plus Amex.

I received my bonus on the paid card last week. I don’t know how or why but I got 37000 avios not 25000. Not that I’m complaining!

    • Mike says:

Yes I received the extra 12k points too. For what i dont know but Thanks very much Amex!

  • Getting_lots_of_Debt says:

By the way, you mention the offer is 9000 Avios for the free card in your first header, but in the recap below the picture you say it’s only 3000 (4000 with referral). I presume a c&p typo?

    • Alan says:

It’s certainly still saying 9k Avios + £25 when I clicked through to churn 😉 Have taken a screen shot just in case!

    dear raffles
your site is wonderful but i cant work out how to contact you privately!i e without posting!
i d like to be referred for the BA premium amex please.
Is it any use hanging on to my BMI amex & visa cards?I haven’t transferred my diamond points yet!
many thanks for sharing your wisdom!

    • Hammering_the_Credit_Report says:

I’d keep hold of the bmi AMEX and Visa; once gone you’ll never get them back and they earn more than the other BA cards without a free.
Note the FourSquare offers also on this blog; bmi AMEX gives you a further card to use them with.

  • PHIL says:

On the topic of worthless cards – i am thinking of getting shot of the Lloyds Duo Amex/Mastercard. I’ve got the standard one and it’s really offered nothing since I’ve had the bonus, Apart from keeping the Mastercard where Amex isn’t accepted – but that is at a £5 to 1point spend – awful. Am i missing something or is this card for churning?

    • Rob says:

Apart from having the Amex for Foursquare offers, no not really!

  • tom says:

Reduced to 19000 . Not as bad as the PLATINUM that reduced to 2000!

    • Rome77 says:

Yes, I’ve seen that too. Quite happy I decided to apply on Saturday night now – though I didn’t get an instant decision on my application…

  • Roger says:

I applied before the bonus for fee free card changed to 3000 (from 9000 avios).
Can anyone who applied please confirm that the condition was to spend £1000 within first 3 months of account opening?

Now with 3000 avios it says you need to spend £500 in first 3 months.
Just making sure that I am not missing out on any avios.
