Emirates’ new A380 First Class lounge (or is that First Class Terminal?)

If you like luxury airport lounges, I recommend this article from US site One Mile At A Time.

Ben got to visit the new A380 pier in Dubai Airport’s Terminal 3. This is truly a unique design, with economy, business and first class passengers each having THEIR OWN FLOOR in the terminal.

It looks, at first glance, like any other airport terminal (picture from One Mile At A Time):

…… except that the whole floor is for Emirates first class A380 passengers. Every bar is free. Every cafe is free. All the shops are luxury outlets. And with just 18 passengers maximum per flight leaving from the terminal, it is hardly going to get busy.

It is well worth a read.

It is also worth adding that I hope to be at Lufthansa’s First Class Terminal again – which Ben picks as his best lounge in the world – next month, so watch out for my report.

With all due respect, supposing for a moment that a few flights leaving around the same time have a light load in F, wouldn’t this feel a bit like a ghost town?

I was in the A380 business class lounge (level 5) about 2 weeks back and I can echo most of the sentiments in the post. It truly is a fantastic experience including boarding directly into the plane from the lounge with only the J-class passengers! It was a bit early in the morning for food and drink (EK 7 which was a 3:10am departure) but the layout was very nice (albeit a bit of a ghost town feel in the middle of the night!). The spa is not open yet, so if travelling with the Mrs, make sure you stop in the other terminal (they have a 24 hour spa) Can’t remember the shops but they may have been closed…..
