Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

£815 Business Class flights to China ex-UK … good for Avios and BA tier points

This is an excellent offer … almost as good as the £777 deal to Seoul that British Airways ran recently.

Finnair is promoting its services to Chongqing with this very good offer.

You can fly, return, from London or Manchester to Chongqing for just £815 including all taxes.

Chongqing

The flights are with Finnair so you will be changing planes in Helsinki.  The flight would earn 440 British Airways tier points – very close to the 600 required for a Silver card – plus a big pile of Avios points.

You need to be a member of Finnair Plus, Finnair’s loyalty scheme, to book this.  However, it is free to sign-up, and during the booking process you can put in a British Airways Executive Club number instead of your Finnair one.

The small print:

  • Book by 17th December
  • Must stay for 6 nights or a Friday or Saturday night
  • Must return home before 31st May
  • You cannot do a stopover in Helsinki
  • No changes / no refunds

A visa is required for travel to China, don’t forget.

I haven’t dug out a map of China, so I’m not sure how easy it is to hop from Chongqing to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong etc.

  • dan says:

Does anyone know if the £559 + 2000 points version earns avios??

    • Raffles says:

It is not clear, unfortunately. Which is a shame, because you could convert 2000 Amex points to Finnair – although perhaps not in time to book.
