If you booked a £20.12 hotel room yesterday (see this article – and the offer is still on today, although I’m not sure how much is left) then a) well done! and b) there is one other thing to consider.

If you are not a regular visitor to Holiday Inn, HI Express or Crowne Plaza hotels, you may not have joined Priority Club, their loyalty programme.

Now, in theory, the £20.12 rooms do NOT earn points – it is in the small print. Last time they ran this deal, though, some properties did give out points and call the stays ‘qualifying’ for counting towards status.

Just in case your stay DOES get posted as ‘qualifying’, you should read this post – ‘Why you should try to stay 1 night in a Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza or InterContinental each year‘.

Basically, there are lots of codes you can load onto your Priority Club account which give you a ‘one off’ bonus of 1,000 to 3,000 points. If you have never done a Priority Club stay before, or haven’t for a year, then you should be able to get at least 10,000 points for your £20.12 stay – assuming it posts as a qualifying stay.

10,000 Priority Club points can be transferred into 2,000 Avios points, amongst other things.

Thanks Raffles- this could be good as I am Platinum through the Visa but havent stayed IHG for a long time- the majority of the codes listed seem to expire end of Dec- is there a longer term one or am I missing something?
I tried the links above with little success.

    • Raffles says:

Only the ‘stay x’ codes will expire in December, and will be replaced anyway. I believe these codes are still OK, almost certainly some more as well in the FT thread:
2775 (1k Anniversary Bonus for EACH stay for 90 days), 6778 (1k Anniversary Bonus for EACH stay for 60 days), 2697 (3k Plat Elite Welcome Back Bonus), 1700 (3k Plat Elite Welcome Back Bonus), 6835 (1.5k New Member Bonus), 7830 (1.5k Welcome Back Bonus), 3750 (1k pt Gold Bonus), 1848 (1.5k pts for next stay)

  • Rich Spencer says:

    Thanks Raffles- helpful as usual.
Just tried all of these, and got code invalid for all- not sure if it’s because the first one was invalid and then that stayed on the screen? Ah well, I’ve also booked the Maidenhead £20.12 offer so we will see what happens.

Sadly PC seem to be tightening up on things a bit and I’ve noticed increasingly problems with getting codes to be valid as of late 🙁

  • Col A-B (@mkcol) says:

Brilliant thanks for this – I had *no* idea that PC points could be transferred into Avios. Now to work out if getting that black card you talked about before is a cheaper way of getting Avios than just purchasing directly.

  • Raffles says:

That list of codes I posted earlier seems out of date.

These are the latest ones according to Flyertalk.

1228 – 3000 Bonus Priority Club Points for your next stay Worldwide. Stay must be made within 90 days of registering.
2120 – 1500 Bonus Priority Club Points for your next stay Worldwide. Stay must be made within 90 days of registering
3107 – 1500 Bonus Priority Club Points or 500 Bonus Airline Miles for your next stay Worldwide. Stay must be made within 90 days of registering.
3136 – 5000 Bonus Priority Club Points for your next weekend (Fri+Sat or Sat+Sun) stay Worldwide. Stay must be made within 90 days of registering.
5109 – 1500 Bonus Priority Club Points for your next stay Worldwide. Stay must be made within 90 days of registering.
5130 – 5000 Bonus Priority Club Points for your next weekend (Fri+Sat or Sat+Sun) stay Worldwide. Stay must be made within 90 days of registering.
6102 – 1000 Bonus Priority Club Points for your next stay Worldwide. Stay must be made within 90 days of registering.
    6113 – 1000 pts per stay for 90 days
    7620 – Next Stay 1000 pts
    8108 – 1000 Bonus Points for 60 Days

You need to be a Priority Club member and go to http://www.priorityclub.com/register to sign up for these.

You will ONLY get the points if your £20.12 room posts as a ‘qualifying’ stay. Hotels are meant to put these through as non-qualifying (ie they are so cheap they are not meant to earn points) but last time they did this a lot did go through as ‘qualifying’.

    • James says:

Can I enter the codes after booking the room? I had a look but couldn’t see where they go.

    • Ben E says:

I managed to get about 8 codes to load up on my account, if you look at account offers status (at least for me) all of them run out on Dec 31. I’ve posted a reminder into my calendar to check back on this after new year and see if any new codes have been churned out on flyertalk. thanks!!
