Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Tesco Wine deal gets even better – 1,228 Avios for £11.64 plus 6 bottles

Last week I published this article.  It describes a code which you can use on the Tesco Wine website to receive 500 bonus Clubcard points (so 1,200 Avios airmiles or 1,250 Virgin miles) when you buy ANY case of wine from the Tesco wine site.

The code is theoretically for first-time users of the Tesco Wine website but many people have reported being able to use it on their accounts even if they were a past Tesco Wine customer.

The cheapest deal was a case of Buck’s Fizz, selling for £12 for 6 bottles.  With £6 postage, you were paying £18 for your 1,200 Avios.

Until November 27th, however, Tesco Wine is offering free delivery!

This means that you can now order 6 bottles of Bucks Fizz for just £11.94, with free postage.

As the Tesco Wine website says:

A light and refreshing sparkling drink made from wine and orange juice.

Serve well chilled as an aperitif or on its own for any celebration.

Perfect for parties.

Of course, you could also choose to buy some wine instead – it is still a decent deal with free delivery and 500 Clubcard points.

Remember that the order deadline for free delivery is November 27th.

Am trying to order some Bucks Fizz ,but there is no delivery slot available, right up to 15th Dec. Anyone else having this problem?

  • Simon says:

Thanks for this, I had a wine delivery due this evening that I ordered at the weekend, I phoned them up this morning and they said they would refund the £6 delivery to my card.

  • Ben says:

There’s also 3x clubcard points on any order (not including the 500) until the 23rd November.

  • Raffles says:

If the points showed up on the order form when you bought it, they will turn up. Comments on other forums imply that Tesco will be adding these points at the end of the quarter (like they used to do with Entertainment points until recently), so you need to keep an eye out for them and, if they don’t appear, ring Customer Services who can manually do it.

  • Roger says:

A tale of two wine orders.

Thanks for the offer. Mrs Roger and I each ordered a box of 6x Bucks Fizz, earning 511 Tesco points each (11 + 500). The orders were delivered together on Saturday 24 November.

They had not appeared on our online Tesco accounts by yesterday, so we fired of a couple of messages to Customer Service.

A call in the evening apologised and awarded 511 to Mrs Roger’s CC account.

A call to me this morning gave the guff about points being applied after statement date. That ‘logic’ broke down because of the absence of the normal 11 points in the account, and the person said she would ask a colleague to get in touch.

Hmmm, presumably it’s now in the ‘too difficult’ pile.
