The Avios ‘25% off’ sale is ON

The Avios ‘25% off’ sale is on and its working on avios.com, ba.com and iberia.com. I have already made a booking to prove it!
But there is nothing on ba.com about it. Nothing at all. Only when you get to the payment page do you see the discount. Nothing on avios.com either. The avios.com/sale hasn’t been updated as at 08.15.
I haven’t had an email about the sale either!
As far as I can tell, it is working as per the rules:
- Long-haul (Zone 4 and above) only
- All fare classes taking part
- One way bookings OK
- Valid for travel that is completed by 31 May
- BA redemptions only
- 241 vouchers OK (couldn’t test this as not got a voucher at the moment)
except for the
- All bookings must start in London
rule:
I have got it to price up one-way tickets TO London with no problems.
I have also got it to price up Manchester to XXXX with the discount, changing in Heathrow.
I also spotted this:
You CAN book a return flight where the return is after 31 May. However, the discount is only applied to the outbound flight.
Also note that the long-haul rules only applies to bookings on ba.com and avios.com. If you have an active Iberia Plus account and can transfer Avios into it (ie it has been open for 90 days and has earned 1 Avios), you can book Iberia short haul flights with the 25% discount. Madrid to London return, for example, is 11,250 Avios and Euro 35 in Economy. You cannot, though, book a BA short haul flight (eg London to Frankfurt) via Iberia Plus and get the discount.
If you want to book, jump in now before 5.7m Avios members get an email about the sale!
Please post any interesting anomalies you spot in the Comments.
