900 Avios, 750 Miles & More or 750 Virgin miles with a new WorldPoints sign-up promo

Yes, I know. This article looks VERY similar to one I wrote last week!

That post was to promote a new BAA WorldPoints sign-up promotion worth 500 points. This new one is worth 750 points – so 900 Avios or 750 Miles & More or Virgin Flying Club miles – but only for travellers going through Heathrow.

BAA WorldPoints is the loyalty scheme for Heathrow, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Southampton airports duty free shops, although from 1st January you will only be able to collect at Heathrow.

You earn 1 point for every £1 spent and can redeem your points for Avios, Virgin Flying Club miles, Miles & More miles, Heathrow shopping vouchers and some other odd bits and pieces, usually at 1 point = 1 mile (for Avios it is 1 point = 1.2 Avios). Full details here.

Here is the new deal, in an email from Lufthansa:

It’s great to see how spending at the airport can add up, especially when you are rewarded with valuable miles. Our partner WorldPoints, Heathrow Airport’s loyalty programme, offers you a welcome bonus that can be exchanged for 750 award miles.

Join by 28 December 2012 and receive 750 bonus WorldPoints when you spend £10 in a single day at London Heathrow. Then simply exchange your points for award miles online – you can get one mile for every point collected.

As I wrote last week, you may well have a WorldPoints account already. However, take a minute to think. Is there anyone in your household or in your Avios household account who is not a member? If so, get a card in their name, use it yourself (this is not a problem) and send the miles over to their account.
