Should you transfer your BAA WorldPoints to Avios now?

  I never earn enough World points to make these decisions worth spending much time over. I don’t know how people run up big balances, I prefer to spend my time at the airport quaffing as much free stuff in the lounge as possible, if I do go shopping it is for essentials, not big ticket items!
  Even before I had lounge access, it takes a lot of eating to earn decent points when it is just 1% of the spend!

  Interestingly I just got an e-mail from World Points announcing they are ending the WorldPoints programme at all airports except LHR. Will this allow them to make the award rate more generous (if rents are higher at LHR)?
  Perhaps it allows them to just cut down on marketing costs, but at least there could be more targetted offeres for LHR.

    A lot of people have at least 1,000 because of the ‘1000 points for opening an account and spending £10’ promo that ran over the Summer!

    Yes, 3 years I think. And activity does not stop older miles from expiring.
