Vueling adds Cardiff to Malaga – a new Avios redemption option

Iberia‘s sister company Vueling is launching flights from Cardiff to Malaga from April 2013. This is in addition to their services to Alicante and Barcelona.
There was also a Cardiff to Palma route operating in 2012, but it is reported that this will not return in 2013.
This gives another decent option for people living near Cardiff who would like to use their Avios without transiting in London.
Whilst Cardiff to Malaga does not seem to be currently available via Iberia Plus for award redemption, it should turn up at some point.
It will cost 15,000 Avios plus £27 for a Return Saver fare, and will only be bookable via Iberia Plus. You will therefore need to transfer Avios from BAEC or avios.com to an Iberia Plus account – and don’t forget that your Iberia Plus account needs to have been open for 90 days before you can transfer into it.
This article gives a lot more background on using Avios for Vueling flights.
