Shockingly poor new BA Amex sign-up bonus launched

The last lot of BA American Express sign-up bonuses have gone, to be replaced by a set which are, amazingly, even worse.

The Premium Plus card now offers a sign-up bonus of just 6,000 Avios (7,000 if you are referred), down from 18,000 (and down from 40,000 two months ago).

The free British Airways card now offers a bonus of just 1,000 Avios (2,000 if referred), down from 3,000.

These bonuses run until 24th October.  If you were thinking of applying for the BA Amex, I would wait until 25th October and see what comes along instead.  It can’t be worse than this, and frankly you’ll just encourage them to keep the bonuses low by applying now

Use your time to get one of my recommended cards with a good sign-up bonus, like the Hilton card – this requires £750 spend to trigger your free night, which should be possible before the Amex bonus improves.
