A quick heads up that the current offer of up to 30% bonus Avios points when you purchase Avios will expire on 2nd August.

To quote from the recent email I received:

Avios wing 14

If you want to give your  Avios balance a real boost, or purchase them as a gift for a friend,  we’ll give you a bonus of up to 30% more Avios than usual, when you  purchase by 2 August 2012. The more Avios you purchase, the bigger the  bonus. So for example, if you purchase your annual allowance of 24,000  Avios now, you’ll actually receive 31,200. Just in time for a late  summer redemption break. Why wait? Purchase more Avios by 2 August 2012  and enjoy that upgrade or redemption flight a lot sooner with your  bonus.

Here is the avios.com link and here is the ba.com link.  Note the use of ‘up to‘ in the quote above.  You only get the 30% bonus if you buy the maximum 24,000 Avios, which would cost £399 for 31,200, so 1.28p per Avios.

I do not consider this a great deal, so you should only buy them if you have a definite use in mind.  I certainly wouldn’t bother buying 1,000 Avios just to get a paltry 5% bonus of 50 points.
